Interview with Ayla

At Attard Baldacchino, we value the importance of learning more about our staff members' backgrounds, experiences, and accomplishments in the workplace. Because of Ayla’s great achievements over the last couple of weeks, we conducted an interview with her, to celebrate her Employee of the Year award and Investment Migration Certificate.

We asked Ayla to share her life journey and explain how she initially joined Attard Baldacchino to gain a deeper understanding of her background.

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Baku, Azerbaijan, Ayla embarked on an educational journey that would take her across borders and challenge her in ways she never imagined. Growing up, she immersed herself in the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland, navigating the complexities of studying in her non-native language, Russian.

After completing 11 years of education in Russian, she ventured into higher studies at Azerbaijan Cooperation University, specialising in the field of Accountancy and Auditing. Graduating in 2018 marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another as she received an invitation from Sapienza University of Rome to pursue a Master's degree in European Studies, delving into the realms of law and economics.

According to Ayla, the transition to Rome was not without its challenges. ‘For the first time in my life, I found myself navigating the intricacies of a new country, a new culture, and a new language, all on my own. Yet, far from feeling broken by the weight of these challenges, I found myself growing stronger with each obstacle I faced.’

The three years spent at Sapienza University were transformative, both academically and personally. As she grappled with the complexities of European law and economics, she also discovered resilience within herself that she never knew existed. Despite the solitude and the struggles, she persevered, driven by a desire to broaden her horizons and carve out a path for herself in the global arena.

Upon graduation, she embarked on a new quest - The search for employment opportunities that would allow her to leverage her unique background and skills. Ayla elaborated that ‘It was during this time that fate led me to an intriguing job description that called for proficiency in the Russian language. Recognizing the alignment between my linguistic abilities and the job requirements, I seized the opportunity and embarked on a new chapter with Attard Baldacchino.’

Her journey with Attard Baldacchino has been nothing short of fulfilling. She explained that ‘As I navigate the complexities of my role, I am reminded of the winding path that brought me here - from Baku to the halls of Sapienza University to the offices of Attard Baldacchino. Each step along the way has shaped me into the person I am today - resilient, determined, and ready to embrace whatever challenges I may face.’

Ayla is a key person in Dr Russell Attard Baldacchino’s team, whereby her efforts help to ensure that the relocation process for our international clients opting for residency or citizenship in Malta under one of Malta’s relocation programmes is a smooth and successful journey. Malta currently offers a Malta Nomad Residence Permit (MNRP) option for digital nomads or remote workers, a more long-term residency solution under the Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP), and the more exclusive citizenship by naturalisation option by means of a period of residency in Malta and direct investment under Malta’s Citizenship for Exceptional Services Regulations. To gain a more practical understanding of Ayla's position and duties, we asked her what her daily tasks as the Senior Client Exceutive at Attard Baldacchino entails.

Ayla explained that as a Senior Client Executive, ‘My role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between our organisation and our valued clients. Each day presents unique challenges and opportunities, but there are several key components that define my day-to-day work. One of the core aspects of my role is to nurture and maintain strong relationships with our clients. This involves regular communication to understand their needs, concerns, and objectives. In my capacity as a Senior Client Executive I play a central role in coordinating projects and initiatives on behalf of our clients. This entails liaising with various internal teams to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.

By serving as a bridge between clients and our organisation, I facilitate smooth project execution and mitigate any potential challenges that may arise. Addressing client concerns and resolving issues promptly is paramount to maintaining positive relationships. I am tasked with promptly identifying and addressing any obstacles or discrepancies that may impact client satisfaction. In summary, my role as a Senior Client Executive is multifaceted and dynamic, requiring a blend of interpersonal, organisational, and strategic skills. By prioritising client satisfaction, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement, I play a pivotal role in building lasting relationships and driving mutual success for our clients and our organisation.’

International Woman’s Day

Besides only putting Ayla in the spotlight, we would like to take a moment on International Women's Day to also celebrate and honour the accomplishments and contributions of women worldwide. It is important to acknowledge the incredible talent, determination, and strength that women have in every industry, country and community today. We wish to recognise the global accomplishments of women, be it political, cultural, economic, social, or family related. By addressing topics like gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence against women, we strive to raise awareness of the women's rights movement. At Attard Baldacchino, we are proud of the achievements made in advancing gender equality and strive to offer females the power to demand and receive equal treatment.
